REAFE STUDIO have been working with a longstanding client Freight Store on this new design for sometime now and we are all very pleased with the final product. We worked with a Potter & Pewter manufacturer in the UK to have these candlesticks made.
The simple pared back shape referenced early 18th century candle sticks. This required many adjustments, prototypes, measurements until the final production run was made. We feel that we have a beautifully simple product that references the past with a more modern aesthetic. The candle holder insert is a separate pewter or turned brushed brass piece thats removable so it can be easily cleaned.
There are three different finishes and three different sizes.
Size Small 180mm tall
Medium 240mm tall
Large 300mm tall
Finish Tudor - A mottled darker finish more worn looking
Chrome - A polished finish
Brushed - A less shiny finish than the chrome with a brushed matt feel
The second finish is produced for the client made by the potter in Stoke on Trent. Produced using a traditional slip casting technique with the choice of stoneware unglazed, bone china unglazed or earthenware finished in a bespoke matt black glaze.
